RESIDENTIAL FIRE ALARM, 9618 FRANKSTOWN ROAD
RESIDENTIAL FIRE ALARM, 9618 FRANKSTOWN ROAD
225 and 221 alerted for Residential Fire Alarm. 221 Squad with a crew of 3 went in service. Squad arrived on scene with a 2 story brick nothing showing and hydrant out front. 225 SVC went on scene shortly after. Crews investigated and found burnt food. No ventilation was needed. Command was terminated and all units returned in service.

TRANSFORMER FIRE, STRANAHAN @ OBERLIN
St. 221 was alerted for a transformer fire at the intersection of Stranahan & Oberlin. 221 Chief in the area investigating. Several motorists flagged down the chief reporting the call to be at Stranahan & Oakdene. 911 Communications was advised this would be clearly into the city. 221 Chief arrived on scene finding the top of a telephone pole sheared off from a lightning strike and a transformer on the ground with wires down and oil leaking. Duq Light was requested. 231 ENG15 arrived on scene and all Penn Hills units returned in service.

Units were alerted for a possible gas well struck by lightning, then upgraded to a dwelling fire. Units arrived on scene finding a vent pipe from a Peoples Gas Pressure Lower Station that was ablaze. It appeared the vent pipe may have been struck by lightning and lit off. People Gas was notified to respond and units stood by till they arrived on scene.

St. 221 & 222 were alerted for a 2 car crash with injuries. 221 Squad arrived on scene finding 2 cars head on with moderate damage and 1 pt still in the vehicle. EMS was on scene attending to the patient. Crews handled stabilization and hazards, and assisted PD with Traffic Control.

Command held the assignment with the Squad and Chief returning the RQ. Crew treated the patient and awaited EMS arrival. EMS arrived on scene and patient care was transferred. Crew handled a minor containment and debris issue and assisted PD with Traffic Control. Units returned in service.
