St. 221 & 225 were alerted for a possible brush fire in the rear yard. Caller reports hearing crackling and seeing smoke. 221 Chief & 221 Wagon went in service arriving quickly reporting smoke showing from the rear of the house. Wagon crew stretched a line to rear and found moderate fire pushing from a doorway under the rear porch. 221 LT advised 911 Communications of a possible basement fire and the Box was upgraded to a structure fire box adding 222EN, 227TK, and 102RIT to the assignment. 225 Engine was in service shortly after. 221 Chief requested 225 to take the hydrant at Hilda & Highlandview and lay into the Wagon. 221 Chief arrived on scene and assumned Highlandview Command and was briefed by the Captain and made the request for the County FM and all Utilities. Wagon crew got a good knock on the fire and was able to access the under side of porch and found it to only be a storage area with no access to the structure. It appeared to be a totally
enclosed concrete room for storage purposes only. 221 Tower, 225 Service, & 225 Truck arrived with crews overhauling the area with hooks and poles. Wagon crew then retrieved to Foam Pro Pak and used the Class B High Expansion Foam to make a final extinguishment of the storage area.
