St. 221, 225, 222, and 227TK were alerted for a smell of something electrical burning and alarm activation. 221 Squad arrived on scene with nothing showing and crews going to investigate. 221 Chief, 221 Wagon and 227 Truck followed in service. 221 Capt 1 took Command with 221 LT2 taking Operations. Crew were unable to locate anything other than a hand held iron making a smell. Command held the assignment with the Squad and Wagon and returned all others. <br />

CO CONDITION, 1431 BRUSHTON AVE
St. 221 & 225 were alerted for a reported CO Condition in the structure. 2 occupants of the structure complained of feeling ill for several days, this day the male half drove to his girlfriends in Wilkinsburg complaining of being ill and vomitting. The female called 911 and the FD & EMS responded to evaluate. The EMS arrived and requested the FD be sent to a house in Penn Hills were the male resides. 221 Squad, and 225 EN arrived on scene awaiting a keyholder. Once keyholder arrived crews made entry to the structure and found no initial levels of CO, there was a slight hint of natural gas when the door was opened. The occupants girlfriend says they have been feeling ill after staying in the residence for a few days now. Crews checked the stove which would not light correctly and also gave of a smell of gas and low levels of CO around 10ppm. Crews were initially told the furnace did not work. Initial thoughts were they were heating the residence with the stove. While i
nvestigating further and male and female approached claiming to own the residence and gave the crew some resistance to being there. The female occupant then advised the furnace did work but was off for some reason. Crews turned the furnace back on and allowed it to heat up and start running and CO Levels in the basement spiked to over 50ppm and climbing. Crews immediatley shut the furnace off and requested the Equitable Gas to the scene. While investigating crews also found the flu pipe to the hot water tank not connected and venting properly. Howowner was advised of all the pending issues and imformed he needed to have these resolved. They were also advised that the gas company was on the way and to make sure they awaited there arrival. Crews left the doors open for natural ventilation and returned in service. <br />

NATURAL GAS EMERGENCY, 7300 RIDGEVIEW AVE #AIU
St. 221SQ1, 225EN1, 216TK1, 227RQ1, M386 were alerted for a Odor of Natural Gas inside the structure. 225EN1 arrived on scene with (FF Zelinsky) assumning Command. Crews found the fire alarm activated and all parties evacuating the structure. Crews were advised that there was an odor of natural gas on the first floor. 216TK1 held in station. 225EN1 crew along with Medic 386 (FF Vukich) entered the structure with TOG and Meter and began investigating. 221 Chief arrived and was updated. No levels were found on the meter and crews narrowed the smell down to a vent pipe on the outside of the building. Occupant of building were allowed back in and crews reset the alarm. Building Manager was advised and all units returned in service. <br />

As <span style="background-color: rgb(255, 250, 237); font-size: 11px; white-space: pre-wrap;">221 units where returning from a previous call. 221 Deputy came across a PIC w/ Injury and Hazards. Deputy found 1 vehicle into a pole with heavy frontal damage and 1 male still in the vehicle. Occupant attempted to exit the vehicle but was uncooperative with crews. 221 Chief and Squad arrived on scene with the Chief assumning Command. Squad crew handled traffic control and extensive fluid control. 221 Tower arrived and took position in front of St. 221 and assisted with traffic control. 221 SVC was on scene and assisted the Deputy with attempting patient care. Crews remained on scene and provided traffic control and scene lighting for the Police while they did and article search of the area with the K9 officer. Duquesne Light was advised of the 2 telephone poles that were sheared. Police finished there investigation and all FD units returned in service.</span>

221 Squad was alerted for a possible CO condition in a residence with patients and symptoms. Squad arrived on scene and met with the occupants while the squad crew checked the residence. Crew checked the entire residence and found no readings, homeowner then advised units that his residence was red tagged and had no gas service, they were using space heaters to heat bedrooms. Homeowners were advised of proper placement of heaters and 221 Squad returned in service without incident.

NATURAL GAS EMERGENCY, 9901 FRANKSTOWN ROAD
St. 225 & 221 were alerted for a Commercial Day Care for a Odor of Gas in the Building. 221 Squad and Chief went in service with a crew of 5. 221 Chief arrived on scene reporting a 2 story brick with nothing showing, and assumned Frankstown Command. 221 Squad position side D of the Structure and sent crew into investigate. Interior reported no odor of gas but an odor of bleach. Crews continued a secondary search of the entire structure with nothing found. Command met with the complaintant and gathered more info. 225 Service arrived on scene and assisted the interior crews. Peoples Gas was notified to respond. With nothing found by smell or Altair Meter, Comand advised the occupants they could return to the building and that the Gas Co was on way. All units returned in service. <br />

WATER CONDITION, 1777 TIERS ST
St. 221 was alerted for a water main break which was flooding a dwelling. Crews arrived on scene finding a main line break in the street coming up from the ground near the curb. Water was leaching into the dwelling along the front wall of the basement. Crews made sure the floor drain was clear and open and taking water as needed. Crews isolated the power at the breaker box as a precaution. Wilkins Penn Joint was notified and responding. WPJWA arrived on scene and terminated the water at the curb box. Crews re-evaluated the basement and found no electrical items had been affected and re powered the breaker box. Crews advised the WPJWA of situation and returned in service. <br />

221 Squad alerted for a PIC w/ Hazards - Vehicle Rollover w/ Pole & Wires Down as the QRS along with St. 225 and 227 Rescue. 221 Squad arrived on scene with 225 Chief finding a pole and wires down and a SUV on its roof with all occupants out of the vehicle. There were no patients to be evaluated and Command held the assignment with the Chief and the Squad to provide lighting for the investigation. Squad crew stood by till the arrival of Duquesne Light and assisted the Tow Operator in removing the vehicle. Crews returned in service with in 2 hours.

St. 221 was alerted for a transformer fire at the intersection of Stranahan & Oberlin. 221 Chief in the area investigating. Several motorists flagged down the chief reporting the call to be at Stranahan & Oakdene. 911 Communications was advised this would be clearly into the city. 221 Chief arrived on scene finding the top of a telephone pole sheared off from a lightning strike and a transformer on the ground with wires down and oil leaking. Units were alerted for a possible gas well struck by lightning, then upgraded to a dwelling fire. Units arrived on scene finding a vent pipe from a Peoples Gas Pressure Lower Station that was ablaze. It appeared the vent pipe may have been struck by lightning and lit off. People Gas was notified to respond and units stood by till they arrived on scene.

COMMERCIAL FIRE ALARM, 2750 ROBINSON BLVD
St. 225 and 221 were alerted for Commercial Fire Alarm. 221 Squad and Chief went in service with a crew of 7. 225 Truck called in service shortly after. 221 Chief arrived on scene with an audible and visual alarm activated, with partial evacuation. 225 Truck crew entered Side A for investigation while 221 Chief had Valmar Command. 221 Squad arrived on was directed to stand by at the plug and send there crew to Side A. Interior 1 reported burnt food and requested a fan to the front door for ventilation. Squad crew retrieved a PPV Fan from 225 Truck and set up ventilation at front door. Interior 1 handled a reset on the alarm while Interior 2 checked the smoke condition on the 3rd floor. Interior 2 reported smoke was clear. Ventilation was dicontinued and all units returned in service. <br />

St. 225, 221, 222, & 227TK were alerted for a Brush Fire endagering a structure. 221 Deputy was on scene with a small brush fire. 221 Wagon and 225 Engine arrived on scene and crews used Booster Line and Hooks to extinguish and overhaul the fire area. Wagon crew stretched a line to rear and found moderate fire pushing from a doorway under the rear porch. 221 LT advised 911 Communications of a possible basement fire and the Box was upgraded to a structure fire box adding 222EN, 227TK, and 102RIT to the assignment. 225 Engine was in service shortly after. 221 Chief requested 225 to take the hydrant at Hilda & Highlandview and lay into the Wagon. 221 Chief arrived on scene and assumned Highlandview Command and was briefed by the Captain and made the request for the County FM and all Utilities. Wagon crew got a good knock on the fire and was able to access the under side of porch and found it to only be a storage area with no access to the structure. It appeared to be a totally
enclosed concrete room for storage purposes only. 221 Tower, 225 Service, & 225 Truck arrived with crews overhauling the area with hooks and poles. Wagon crew then retrieved to Foam Pro Pak and used the Class B High Expansion Foam to make a final extinguishment of the storage area. Command held the box with units on scene returning the 222EN, the Truck and RIT.

221 Engine alerted for a containment detail ARB @ Nadine. Crew arrived on scene and found a vehicle leaking a fair amount of gasoline. Crew applied oil dry as PD was gathering driver information. After all of the spill was covered, the engine crew picked back up and returned in service without incident.

Upon investigation noted that stove takes a little to ignite, resident was advised of the issue and to contact a service provider. All units are clear from the scene at this time.

St. 225, 221, 222, and 227 TK were alerted for a reported dwelling on fire. Callers reporting a grill or porch on fire. 221 Chief arrived on scene with smoke showing. Further investigation revealed a hibachi grill on top of a wooden table and 2 chairs on fire on a side porch. 225 TK arrived on scene and command held the assignment with the Chief and Truck. PIC W/ HAZARDS, MT. CARMEL @ CALMAR
St. 221, 222RQ, and 227RQ were alerted for a PIC w/ Injury and Hazards. Crews were advised that there was at least 1 vehicle into a structure. 3392 arrived on scene reporting 3 vehicles involved, 1 vehicle moderate damage still on the roadway, and 2 vehicles in a yard with moderate damage. All parties were out of the vehicles and speaking to police or EMS. 221 Chief held the assignment to 221 and 222RQ and returned the others. Crews disconnected the horn on 1 vehicle and checked for any hazards. The vehicles never struck any structures and there was a very minor fluid leak in the gravel driveway. Crews stood by till 3394 removed all vehicles. All units returned in service. <br />

St. 221 was alerted for a Transformer Fire. 221 Wagon went enroute with 3. Crew arrived in area investigating. Wagon Crew located a downed high tension wire between the poles laying across 2 driveways in the yards. Wagon Crew requested Duq Light and PD to assist shutting traffic down. In the process 4 Middle School Children missed there bus by not being able to pass the wire to get to there stop, the children attempted to catch a different bus to no avail. Duq Light arrived on scene at 0758 and released the FD with PD still assisting. 221 Wagon transported the 4 children to Linton Middle School so they would not miss class. Transport was complete at 0815. 221 Chief spoke to the principal and advised him of the situation. The children reported to class a few minutes late but were excused. All units returned in service. <br />

Crews were alerted for a possible structure fire. 221 Chief arrived on scene reporting nothing showing. The Chief was met by neighbors who checked on the persons in 724 and they indicated they had no problem. A slight odor of smoke was noticed in the air, the Chief had 221 Wagon check Parkway Ave while 225 TK arrived on Churchill. Crew located a outdoor recreational fire in the rear yard of a house on Parkway Ave. The outdoor fire was contained and legal. All units returned in service.

PUBLIC SERVICE DETAIL, CHASKE STREET
Squad 221 was alerted to assist the Police already on scene with a 4# Tea Cup Poodle with her right rear paw entagled in the drain catch of a kitchen sink. Police already had removed the drain from the sink and were able to cut out the catch from the drain. They were unable to remove the drain catch any further. The Rescue Squad Crew arrived on scene and requested a Dremel Tool. The Chief retrieved his from home and responded. With the assistance of the Penn Hills Police, Penn Hills Emergency Services, and the Rescue Squad we were able to free Sadie the Tea Cup Poodle from her prediciment. Crews checked the lil pup for any injuries and advised the owner to have her checked at a local vet. The owner and her neighbors were more than excited that the emergency crews were able to free her beloved pet. The owner requested we all pose for a picture with her and her Sadie. Shortly after all crews returned in service.

St. 221, 222RQ & 227RQ were alerted for a reported PIC w/ Entrapment. 221 Squad with a crew of 6 arrived on scene with 222 Chief. 221 Chief assumned Blackadore Command reporting 1 car partially on its side with 1 male still in vehicle. Crews stabilized the vehicle using step chocks, wedges, 2x4, and 4x4 cribbing. Crew made entry and applied a c collar to the male, the patient was then extricated to a LBB, CID, and Straps. Crews began patient assesment and handed the patient off to the arriving M318 unit. Crews then cleaned up debris an applied a small amount of oil dry. 222 & 227 units arrived on scene and staged in there vehicles. Command cleared all units in service.<br />
