RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE, 10121 GIBSON ST
St. 225 & 221 were alerted for a reported basement fire. 221 Squad the Chief and A Chief were all enroute. 221 Squad arrived on scene reporting a good fire with heavy smoke from front door. Squad crew pulled 1 3/4" preconnect and streched to the basement to find the seat of the fire. Plugman made the hydrant connection in front of the house and Pumpman charged the line and made neccesary connections. 221 AC took interior ops while 221 Chief had Gibson Command. Command requested 227 for the TK and RQ and 222 for the RIT. 225 TK arrived on scene positioned in front of the house. Crews located the fire in basement and made a fast knock on the fire. Crews began overhaul while 227 TK went to work on ventilation. The RIT was returned in service and units began to mop up. Command requested the Fire Marshall for investigation and Salt Truck from DPW for the icy street. Crew returned in service as they picked up. Great Job by all Crews on a quick job.

Crews found the entire front porch and 1st floor living room well involved. 225 TK arrived behind the Squad. Crews pulled 3 preconnects and began attack. Crews knocked the main body of fire down and began overhaul. Ventilation was also started. Fire Marshall and Police were on scene at this time. Utilities were terminated by 225 Chief and Utilities notified. Crews began wrapping up and returned in service as they picked up. <br />

St. 221 & 225 were alerted for a High Pressure Natural Gas Line struck by the WPJWA. 221 Squad arrived finding a high pressure gas leak from main service connection. WPJWA struck the line with back hoe. Crews pulled 200' Pre Connect and staged in area of the driveway. 225 EN arrived blocking the road and there crew assisted WPJWA in getting line the shut off. 225 TK arrived and blocked the road at Aber and Grove. Equitable Gas was notified and responding. Crews returned in service as they picked up.
St. 221 alerted to assist resident with resetting a blown circuit breaker. 221 Chief arrived on scene finding a home with no heat and 2 space heaters running on the same circuit. Heaters were unplugged and circuit reset. Power was restored to the home and owner advised. All units returned in service.

Station 221 and 225 was alerted to the 7100 block of Paxico St for a reported telephone pole fire. 221 Squad went responding with 3. While enroute County advised that City Engine 15 was also alerted for a vehicle fire at the same address. 221 Squad arrived on scene to find City Engine 15 out with a fully involved vehicle fire. 15 Engine already had a line off and was knocking the fire down. Due to the car having a full tank of gas, 15 Engine needed water relayed to them from 221 Squad. Squad crew connected a 3 inch line to Engine 15 and supplied them with water. After the fire was out, the squad crew assisted in clean up and overhaul. 221 Squad back in service 0313 hours.

ELECTRICAL CONDITION, 8235 CHASKE ST
St. 221, EN222, TK225, TK227 were alerted on a residential structure response for electrical condition on second floor. 221 Squad responded with a crew of 5. EN222, TK225, EN2212 and TK227 all responded as well. Squad crew arrived on scene with crew of 3 making entry with the iron, pw can, and TIC. Crew located a faulty outlet on the second floor that was hot and glowing orange. 221 Asst arrived taking operations with the Chief in Commnad. Crews isolated the power at the fuse box. Operations advised all other units could return in service.TK225 arrived and took the tool box to the second floor. Crews disconnected the outlet, made an investigation hole and checked the residence with the TIC. Crews replaced the fuse and reenergized the power. Crews remained in the house for awhile to make sure all was ok. Homeowner was advised to contact electrician for repair. All units returned in service.

St. 225 was alerted for a Commercial Fire Alarm. Prior to any units marking on the air, 911 Communications began recieving multiple calls for a working fire in the basement laundry room. St. 221 was added to the detail. The Squad Crew and Command Car were enroute with Service 225. The Asst req a special alarm be added bringing 227 TK and 222 for the RIT. Command and the Service arrived on scene finding smoke showing and evacuation underway. 225 TK arrived and postioned in front of Side A with the Squad laying the Supply Line. Crews forced entry into the fire room with tools and a 200' preconnect finding a fire with heavy smoke condition in a storage area. 222 RIT arrived and set up on Side A for operations. 227 TK arrived and was assigned to Ventilation. Crews got a fast knock on the fire and overauled. Ventilation was completed with a negative and positive pressure fan. Crews also checked all the apartments as well. The fire marshall was requested to scene as were utilities. Crews began clean up operations and the RIT was released. The PHPD provided Traffic and Scene Control while the PH EMS provided EMS Operations. The Fire Marshall arrived and units assisted with his investigation. All units began returning as the picked up.<br />

St. 221 & 222 were alerted for PIC w/ Hazards. The caller was confused and gave several different locations. Crews checked the area and initially werent able to locate anything. While the Squad crew was returning they found a vehicle into the building at ACE's Auto in the 222nd Dist not far from the original location. The squad crew evaluated the situation and determined there were no occupants and some structural damage. The addidtional units arrived and the scene was turned over to the police. NATURAL GAS LEAK, 510 PENN VISTA
Stations 225, 227, and 222 were alerted for a Natural gas leak when contractors hit a main. 225 Crews were at Churchill station and 227 was at the Penn Circle Fire. 221 was put on to fill the card. Crews investigated with the gas meter with no levels found. Gas company was notified. Crews stood by while gas company shut gas off. 221 Sq then went to staff 227, while enroute 227 was returning and 221 Sq returned to station.<br type="_moz" />

Station 225, 221, and 227 were alerted to 9205 Vantine St. in Penn Hills for an Appliance Investigation at this residence. 221 Service responded non emergency to the address. Upon arrival 221 Service was met by 225 Captain to investigate the situation. There was no one home at the residence, utilities were shut off, and 225 Captain returned everyone in service. 221 Service returning available.<br />

Command with the Asst Chief, Squad with 5, Service with 3 marked on the air along with Engine and Rescue 222. Command 221 arrived on the scene establishing ARB command to find single car MVC , SUV into a utility pole with the entire pole broken in 2 places and wires down with fluids on the roadway just before the Shades Run bridge. Initial assessment revealed no occupants in the vehicle and no one around the accident scene. Command placed medics back in service, request Duquesne light. 221 Squad and Service arrived on the scene for support supplying lighting and oil dry for containment. Command request 222 Engine and Rescue to block ARB @ Nadine and direct traffic up Nadine and City of Pittsburgh units to block off Washington Blvd @ ARB along with notification of Port Authority for road closer. Units used a total of 4 Bags of oil dry to contain fluids. Duquesne light arrived on the scene to mitigate wire hazard. Kuhn Towing removed vehicle via flat bed truck. Police took over traffic detail ARB @ Nadine, command placed 222 units and the service back in service. Containment detail complete, command terminated all 221 units return to quarters.<br />

Station 225 alert for a Co Alarm activation no priority symptoms. Station 221 was alerted on a fill. Squad crew responded with 3, arrived on the scene to find single story residential no evacuation in progress. Spoke to the home owner states alarm activated 15 minutes prior to calling for FD. Crews had zero readings on the detector at the door then proceeded into the residents. Crews checked furnace, hot water heater and tank, along with the dryer. Readings showed 6-7 ppm around all the appliances. Homes owner was advised, notified gas company through county dispatch. 221 units returned in service.

St. 221 & RQ222 were alerted for a reported PIC w/ Possible Entrapment. 221 Squad, SVC, & Command arrived on scene with 221 Asst taking command. Command reported a single vehicle into a pole and trees with 2 occupants down on ground. Squad Crew went to work on evaluating the patients and checking for hazads. Service crew handled traffic control. Squad crew treated 2 patients while awaiting EMS arrival. 2 patients were transported to a local trauma center for further care. Crews awaited arrival of Don Kuhn Auto and assisted with removing the vehicle while providing scene lighting. Severe Damage was done to the pole and Duquesne Light was on scene for repair. All units returned in service.

Crews arrived and placed a PPV Fan in operation to evacuate the smoke and checked area with TIC. Stove was disconnected and Equitable Gas was notified to check the stove. RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE, 7247 LAWTON ST
St. 221, 225, 222, & TK227 were alerted for a reported structure fire. The Squad arrived on scene and reporting a working fire. The Squad established a water supply and stretched a 1 3/4" handline. 222 EN arrived on scene and crews went to work on extinguishing the fire. Crews found fire on both the first and second floors. 222 Asst assumed Command and reported possible entrapment. M381 arrived and assisted with rehab and safety. 227 TK arrived and set up in front of the structure and crews went to work on search. 102 RIT arrived on scene and set up for RIT operations. 223 was added on a fill and responded for manpower and assistance. A thorough search of the structure proved to be negative for any entrapment. Command requested all Utilities and the Fire Marshall be notified. Crew had a good knock on the fire and began overhaul and ventilation. Units began returning as they picked up, with the Squad remaining on scene to assist the Allegheny County Fire Marshall and Police with the Investigation. No injuries were reported and Job Well Done by All.

St. 221, 222, & 227 were alerted for a possible physical rescue. Medics were dispatched to a male with a sever laceration to his head from a chain saw at a logging site. Info was recieved to male was in the woods trying make his way out on a skidder, but his status was unknown due to third party info. M382 arrived as the Squad was pulling up. Crews cancelled the rescue assignment since the male was extricated from woods. M382 provided ALS Care and transported to a local trauma center. All units returned in service.

St. 221 was alerted for a PIC w/ INJ. While units were enroute, 911 advised of a possible hit and run with vehicles chasing each other towards Churchill. 221 Squad arrived finding a single vehicle with heavy front and rear damage, fluids on the road, and 2 females sitting in a driveway. Both females were uninjured ad just shaken up. Crews were putting oil dry on the fluids as the Chief arrived. Driver of vehicle indicated a male rear ended her pushing her into another vehicle. The striking vehicle then took off toward Churchill, the vehicle that she struck then followed the actor vehicle. While on scene a few minutes police were advised the vehicle and driver were apprehended in Wilkinsburg and were waiting for Penn Hills PD to arrive. It was later determined that the driver of the following vehicle was an off duty police officer from another town. Excellent work by all agencies involved and no one injured.

RESIDENTIAL FIRE ALARM, 7203 TRAVELLA BLVD
St. 221 was alerted for a Residential Fire Alarm. 221 Chief & Squad were in service with 7. 221 Chief arrived on scene finding a 3 story brick with front door open, and a hydrant 2 houses down in front of 7201. Chief took command and was greeted by homeowner at front door. Owner states she was cooking a pan in stove and smoke set the alarm off. Command requested Crew 1 to investigate. Crew 2 stood by outside. Crew 1 reported a minor smoke condition from cooking accident. Crew 1 opened several windows and advised owner. All units returned in service.

COMMERCIAL FIRE ALARM, 2700 ROBINSON BLVD
St 221 & 227 dispatched for an automatic fire alarm. Squad 221 arrived on scene to investigate, residence reporting a smoke condition on 2nd floor. Command requested assignment be upgraded for a possible fire in the building, 222 alerted for 3rd due company. Interior crews reported fireworks set off in the rear stairwell causing the smoke and alarm. Situation turned over to building management, command terminated.

BASEMENT FIRE, 136 MARSHALL DR
St. 227, 225, & 223 were alerted for a reported Basement Fire. Police arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke showing. 227 Asst added 226 for the RIT and 221 for a fill. Units arrived finding a fire in basement from a lawnmower and heavy smoke condition. Crews extinguished the fire and venitlated. PH Fire Marshall was requested for investigation and all units returned as they picked up.

St. 221 & 222 were alerted for a Physical Rescue of a male who fell over a cliff 20ft in the woods off of Adam St. Crew from SVC went into woods to evaluate. Crew found male over hillside about 100 yards back and 70 feet over the hill. Crews from 222 RQ set up rope haul system and harnesses. Crews went into the woods and performed a physical rescue of the male. The male was uninjured and brought out safely. Crews returned in service as they picked up.
